Last Friday we celebrated the official launch of FireHosiery at the Tap Art Gallery in Darlinghurst.
The event was attended by over 300 guests from media, fashion, beauty, law, healthcare and a range of other industries, as well as notable members from the Sydney burlesque and vintage communities. The turnout was greater than we had anticipated and it was so wonderful to see such a large group of people excited about hosiery!

Upon arrival, our guests mingled whilst enjoying wine and canapés, before being led through a velvet curtain to watch the beautiful Briana Bluebell open the evening with a burlesque performance to Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” Briana looked absolutely breathtaking in her red and black costume, worn with FireHosiery’s elegant Chantilly tights and hand-made mary jane pumps by Shoes of Prey.

The FireHosiery catwalk show followed immediately after, with models, Annabel, Jemma, Esther and Cameron burning up the catwalk in our hosiery. The catwalk show was styled and managed by Maura McGuirk of Style Magpie, who created a series of ‘stories’ or themes based around our collection ranging from four seasons to polished corporate to simply sexy, and finally through to burlesque and theatrical.

Maura was assisted by a talented team of make-up artists, Leah Schuster and Hilary Ho, and hair stylists, Michael Johnson and Christian Liersch.
We are proud to say that all shoes showcased on the catwalk were hand made by Shoes of Prey: because beautiful hosiery must be worn with beautiful shoes!
The lovely Lauren LaRouge brought a fun and fiery finale to the night’s entertainment with her balloon bursting routine to “Heard it through the Grapevine” by Gladys Knight and the Pips and “Tutti Fruitti”. Lauren looked simply lavishing her purple, green and red costume, accompanied our Viola tights and a pair of custom made black patent pumps with violet horsehair detail by Shoes of Prey.

DJ Stuart Ridley kept the crowd buzzing the whole night to a great mixture of electro swing beats. Stuart will be putting together a compilation of the tracks soon, and we will post a link on our facebook page for those who would like a copy.
After some more mingling, wine, canapés and photos, the event came to a close and all guests (including even the men!) were super anxious to get their hands on one of our prized gift bags containing a complimentary pair of hosiery from our launch collection, as well as vouchers for the Pole Dance Academy, Shoes of Prey, Franck Provost and more…
Many of the guests continued on afterwards at LO-FI where the manager, Ben Johnson, had concocted a themed fiery cocktail for guests from our launch event.
All in all it was a wonderful night and we would like to thank everyone who helped bring it together, in particular, Ali, Annelisa, Clare, Shiki, Tom and Rory from 5th Base Productions who coordinated photography, videography and lighting, as well as the overall management of the event.
Thanks also to everyone who came along and supported us – we hope you had a blast!
